Alan Arkin, the 89-year-old actor who won an Academy Award and a Tony Award, has passed away.
His sons, Adam, Matthew, and Anthony, confirmed his death to PEOPLE and released a statement on behalf of the family. They said, “Our father was an exceptionally talented force of nature, both as an artist and as a man. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was cherished and will be greatly missed.”
Arkin’s most recent role was alongside Michael Douglas in the Netflix series The Kominsky Method. The show received Emmy nominations in 2019 and 2020, as well as Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations in 2020 and 2021.
