British Hollywood movie actor arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

PIRATES of the Caribbean star Kevin McNally has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

The British actor, 67, was detained shortly before he was scheduled to attend the world’s largest Dr Who fan convention in Los Angeles.

McNally, who portrayed Joshamee Gibbs — first mate to Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow — throughout all five Pirates films, was released on bail of £40,000 and is set to appear in court next month.

He is married to Bafta-winning actress Phyllis Logan, but police declined to disclose details of his alleged victim, citing confidentiality rules. At his family home in Chiswick, West London yesterday, Phyllis denied any knowledge of his arrest.
