Former Barcelona star Dani Alves has been found guilty of raping a woman in a nightclub and has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Alves, who played 408 games for Barcelona, is among the most decorated footballers in history and has won league titles in Spain, Italy, and France.
One of the greatest full-backs of all time, Alves won 23 trophies during his time with the Catalan giants, including three Champions League titles.
The 40-year-old was also capped 126 times for Brazil and helped his country secure the Copa America title twice. Alves denies any wrongdoing in relation to the charges, and the decision on his guilty verdict can be appealed.
