Palace hits out at ‘madness’ of conspiracy theories about Kate Middleton

Kensington Palace has stated that the Princess of Wales is “doing well” and addressed the “madness of social media” following online speculation about her health. Official Royal channels have been hesitant to disclose details of Kate’s condition after she underwent abdominal surgery earlier this year.

It had been previously announced that the 42-year-old would step back from public engagements until around Easter as she recuperates. However, while updates have been kept private, rumours have circulated on platforms like Reddit, Twitter, and beyond.

Speculation heightened when Prince William withdrew from a memorial service on Tuesday due to a “personal matter”. Kensington Palace has responded to these claims and issued a statement on Saturday.

The statement read: “We were very clear from the outset that we wouldn’t be providing a continuous update on the Princess of Wales’s health, and would only share significant developments. “Clearly, we have witnessed the frenzy on social media, but this won’t alter our approach.

“While there has been considerable discussion online, the Princess values her privacy and requests that the public respects this.

“We would like to remind everyone of the statement made in January, where it was the Princess of Wales’s wish for her medical information to remain confidential.”
