Horror as man found dead in park as police make arrest

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a park in Staffordshire on today.

Staffordshire Police were called to Queen Elizabeth Park shortly before 8am this morning. They confirmed a 50-year-old man was found dead at the scene. Officers arrested a woman, aged 30, following the fatal attack. The incident took place on Silverdale Road in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The force confirmed that officers remain on the scene as they continue to investigate the incident. A spokesperson told The Mirror: “We are investigating after a man’s body was found in a park in Newcastle this morning (Sunday, March 3). Just before 7.45am we were called to Queen Elizabeth Park, on Silverdale Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, following reports a body had been found. Sadly, the body of a man in his 50s was found at the scene. A 30-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Officers remain at the scene.”
