A child has passed away, and three others have sustained serious injuries following a fire at a residence in Swansea. Yesterday, emergency services were summoned to the scene in the Gonhill area of West Cross at approximately 1.20pm.
Among the individuals present in the house during the incident, one child and a woman experienced smoke inhalation, while a man is currently in a serious condition at Morriston Hospital.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and a joint investigation involving the police and the fire service is underway.
Detective Inspector Carl Price, representing South Wales Police, stated, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the child who has tragically perished in a house fire in West Cross, Swansea.
“Of the three other individuals who were inside the house at the time, one child and one woman suffered from smoke inhalation, and one man is currently in a serious condition at Morriston Hospital.”
