A “ROARING” 1.5 magnitude earthquake has shaken Brits awake – with locals saying “our wardrobe moved”. Tremors from the Snowdonia quake last Thursday were felt up to 25km away in Gwynedd and Anglesey.
The British Geological Survey said the epicentre of the quake was 12km below ground near Foel Grach in the Welsh mountain range.
Locals told how the 1.5 magnitude earthquake “roared like a strong wind”. Another resident in the quake zone noticed “just a rumble for a few seconds”.
But most people slept through the earthquake at 12.48am last Thursday. Last month the Scottish Highlands were hit by two earthquakes in the space on nine hours.
