This Morning viewers in tears as competition winner admits she has 3 months to live

This Morning viewers were crying on Tuesday’s show as Alison Hammond surprised a competition winner for Dosh on your Doorstep and came across Heather, who has a heartbreaking story and an inspiring outlook.

Brave mum Heather Bone, 40, explained she has just three months to live after battling breast cancer, and she is throwing a party with all her loved ones to say goodbye.

It was then revealed Heather previously proposed to her husband on This Morning in 2012, and the show gave her bonus £1,000 and a special message from Craig David for her upcoming birthday on Thursday.

“I got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, I then got the all clear just before my 40th birthday, I thought things were getting back to normal, I then got told I had brain mets, so now I am getting myself organised,” Heather said.

“I have been told I’ve got three months to live, so I am going to have a ‘wake me up before I go, go’ party, a party before my passing.”

Alison asked: “How do you continue to be upbeat for your sons and your husband?”

Heather replied: “Because there is no point moping, it is what it is, if I mope it won’t help my family, my husband or my children.
“So I am in auto-mode at the moment.”

Alison then did the quiz with Heather and she won a whopping £1,000, during which Heather admitted she was a big fan of Craig David.

And afterwards, Craig himself appeared on video to wish Heather a happy birthday and sing to her, with Heather overjoyed.

Alison hilariously also suggested to Heather that she might want strippers at her party with her newfound dosh.

Next, Phil and Holly told Heather that they were adding a bonus £1,000 to Heather’s fund, as Phil said: “Heather we have got two little treats for you.

“We know it’s your birthday on Thursday, so as a birthday present from all of us we are adding another £1,000 to your party, from all of us,” he added, as Heather covered her mouth and burst into happy tears.

They then played the clip of Craig as he said: “Hey Heather, I just wanted to send you all my love and all my positive energy.

“I hear it’s a very special day for you, so let me set it off on the right foot,” he added, before crooning happy birthday and telling Heather he loved her.

They later revealed her Instagram@heathers_cancer_journey had racked up more than 10,000 more followers since her appearance on the show.

Heather married partner Daniel in 2018 after 17 years together, in a beautiful ceremony paid for by the This Morning team after she proposed on the show in 2012.

She has two sons aged 15 and 16, and she previously told the Chichester Observer: “I’m not scared of dying but I’m scared of leaving my kids.”

“I tell them everything. I try to talk to them as much as I can.

“My 16-year-old is doing his GCSEs this year. It’s hard but they are doing alright.”

Heather also lost her mum to ovarian cancer when she was 24, and her father suddenly in his sleep five years later.

Her story touched viewers, as one tweeted: “Wow. That was emotional. Well done Heather. Hope she has the best party. #ThisMorning at its best there”.

Another wrote: “What a brave and lovely lady Heather is, her attitude is uplifting and very inspiring..”.

“Am crying with joy #thismorning Heather, have a great birthday if youre reading this. Lots of love sent and take care. Xxxxx,” added a third.
