Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was stabbed to death in Greenwich.
Emergency services were called at 2.18am on Sunday (April 4) to a seriously injured woman inside a block of flats in Ravine Grove, Plumstead.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman died around an hour later.
A man, 39, was arrested at the scene under suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody at a South London police station.
Officers have yet to identify the woman. A post-mortem examination will follow in due course, the Metropolitan Police said.
The block of flats has been cordoned off while forensic officers gather evidence.
“Enquires continue to establish the full circumstances,” a spokesperson for the Met Police said.
