Matt Hancock ‘caught having affair with married aide as CCTV shows steamy kiss’

The Health Secretary’s job is in the balance after pictures emerged that appeared to show him passionately kissing his closest aide outside his office.

Married Matt Hancock, 42, was caught on CCTV embracing millionaire lobbyist Gina Coladangelo, 43, who he hired as an unpaid advisor in March last year.

The incident is alleged to have taken place in the corridor outside his ninth-floor Whitehall office at around 3pm on May 6.

Covid guidance against physical contact with people from other households was lifted 11 days later.

A whistleblower who used to work at the Department of Health told the Sun the pair had regular clinches together.

The source added: ‘They have tried to keep it a secret but everyone knows what goes on inside a building like that.

‘I’m just amazed he was so brazen about it as he was the Secretary of State.’

Last night a friend of the Health Secretary reportedly told the Sun that ‘no rules have been broken’ and that ‘he has no comment on personal matters’.

A Whitehall whistleblower told the paper it was ‘shocking that Mr Hancock was having an affair in the middle of a pandemic with an adviser and friend he used public money to hire’.

When asked about the alleged affair on Sky News this morning, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the issue is ‘entirely personal’.

Hancock has been married for 15 years to his wife Martha, with whom he has three children.
