A significant emergency response was initiated when two individuals encountered difficulties in the sea at the precise location where two children tragically drowned.
At 12.25pm yesterday, two individuals were observed appearing to struggle in the water east of Bournemouth Pier. This prompted an extensive operation involving beach lifeguards, an RNLI lifeboat, two coastguard teams, a coastguard helicopter, police officers, and ambulance paramedics.
A search of the water was swiftly launched to locate the potential casualties. However, at 1.15pm, the operation was called off as it was discovered that the two male swimmers had managed to return to the beach unaided.
The ages of the individuals, whether they were adults or children, remain unknown at this time.
