First picture of man charged over Elle Edwards murder

A man has today appeared in court charged with the murder of Elle Edwards who was shot dead at a pub on Christmas Eve.

The 26-year-old was blasted in the head as she drank with pals at the Lighthouse Inn, in Wallasey Village, Wirral.

As well as murder, Connor Chapman, 22, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, of Jake Duffy and Kieran Salkeld, when he appeared at Wirral Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The 22-year-old was also charged with possession of a converted Skorpion sub-machine gun and ammunition, both with intent to endanger life.

He was also charged with three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, of Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed and Liam Carr.

Chapman, wearing a grey tracksuit and with long hair, was also charged with handling stolen goods, a Mercedes A Class car, between December 22 and 26 last year.
