A woman has been charged after a car smashed into a home in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services raced to the city’s Oxgangs Road after reports of a car crashing into a house around 3pm on Monday April 26.
A photograph from the scene shows a grey vehicle in the garden of a property and damage to the front door can be spotted.
The driver, a 35-year-old woman, was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment after the collision.
Police confirmed she has since been charged in connection with the incident.
It is understood her injuries are minor.
The incident caused huge traffic delays yesterday afternoon.
Diversions for motorists were in place at the time and some bus services were rerouted.
Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service all attended.
One eyewitness posted online, they said: “The house looks a right off. Car hit the left hand side of the house just under the window thankfully Jean is ok and wasn’t in at the time.
“The side of the house has a massive crack in it.”
