BBC commentator John Hunt has given a heartbreaking statement following the death of his wife and two children in a crossbow attack at their home.
Mr Hunt and his daughter Amy have said they are “devastated” by the crossbow deaths of Carol Hunt, 61, and sisters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, who were found fatally injured at a house in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday. John’s wife Carol Hunt, 61, and two of their daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were found fatally injured at a house in the quiet cul-de-sac of Ashlyn Close in Bushey, Hertfordshire, just after 7pm on Tuesday. Hertfordshire Police said a crossbow has since been recovered as part of the investigation.
It sparked a manhunt for 26-year-old Kyle Clifford, who was found in Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield, north London, with serious injuries on Wednesday afternoon. Police have now said that a man was arrested on suspicion of three counts of murder on Thursday evening.
Mr Hunt and his third daughter Amy thanked people for their messages of support during an “extremely difficult time”. They said: “The devastation that we are experiencing cannot be put into words. We would like to thank people for their kind messages and for the support we have received in recent days. These have provided great comfort to us for which we are very grateful. As you can imagine, this is an extremely difficult time for us, and we need time and space to come to terms with what has happened and start the grieving process.”
