A 69-year-old woman has been apprehended on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a deceased man in a residence.
Law enforcement officers came across the unresponsive man at a property in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, around 11.50 pm last night. The elderly woman, who was present at the location, was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
Leicestershire Police have confirmed that she is currently being held in custody. The East Midlands Ambulance Service alerted the authorities to the scene, initiating a murder investigation.
Detective Inspector Emma Matts, the lead investigator, stated, “Our investigation to ascertain what happened is very much in its early stages, and officers will be in the area today conducting further inquiries. Police will be speaking to those living in the area, and I’d urge anyone who heard or saw anything unusual to come forward. Any information you can provide could be valuable.”
