The One Show host Alex Jones has revealed that she was rushed to hospital after not feeling her baby move for a few days
Pregnant TV star Alex Jones revealed she rushed to hospital after concerns over her unborn child.
The One Show host, 41, told fans she had sought medical attention after she hadn’t felt her baby move for a few days – but reassured them that everything was fine.
Taking to social media to share a snap from her hospital bed, Alex wrote: “Hadn’t felt much movement from the baby for a few days so lying here being monitored.”
She went on to offer a word of warning to other expecting mothers, adding: “If in doubt mammas ALWAYS check! So reassuring to hear the heartbeat.”
Shortly afterwards, following floods of support from concerned fans, the presenter went on: “All was fine at the hospital.
“His or hers little heartbeat was going like the clappers but good to check. Thanks for the messages.”
Alex’s hospital trip comes after she announced her pregnancy at Christmas time, revealing that she and husband Charlie Thomson were expecting their second child.
The pair are already parents to a little boy named Teddy, two.
Alex previously spoke out about how difficult it was to conceive the second time around, telling The Sun: “I have to say, the first time – absolutely fine. Luckily, God, it happened.
“But second time, not as easy. I suppose I’m older now, but we took it for granted that it would be OK. But you don’t really know until you start trying how it’s going to go, do you?
“The majority of couples I know have had something, not always IVF, but some problem that needs to be sorted out.”
As she announced her pregnancy on The One Show alongside co-star Matt Baker, she admitted she didn’t want to share the news so soon, but had no choice due to her blossoming baby bump.
