A man has been knifed to death in broad daylight in a park in south-east London.
Witnesses said the stabbing happened next to a new playground in Southwark Park, Rotherhithe, on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to reports of a man “lying injured” just before 1pm. London’s Air Ambulance was also scrambled.
Paramedics battled to save the man, who was aged in his 30s, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gomm Road gate has been closed while a police investigation is carried out.
A Met Police spokeswoman told the Standard a crime scene remains in place.
She added: “The man’s next of kin have now been informed. No arrests have been made.”
