Little girl drowns in the bath after mum leaves her alone ‘for a few minutes’

A GIRL, three, drowned after her mum left her alone in the bath, according to reports.

Eve Blankenfeld’s mother Ruth left her unattended to fold laundry and attend to her siblings in another room.

The little girl was on her own for “just a few minutes” when she drowned in Decatur, Texas, DFW-TV reported.

Ruth called 911 after she pulled her daughter out of the bath, and while an ambulance crew tried to save Eve she later died in hospital.

When her mum returned she found her daughter face down in the bath, officials said.

Eve’s father Tanner said in a Facebook post: “My sweet little Eve Blankenfeld passed yesterday at 5.28pm. We know she is with Heavenly Father and our savior Jesus Christ.

“We miss her and are thankful for all our earthly angels who have served us during this tough time.”

Eve had been put in the bath because had a high fever and had vomited, Fox 4 said.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the girl.

She was brought to Wise Regional Medical Center but was later transferred to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

She tragically died on Tuesday evening after being transferred to the intensive care unit at the hospital according to news station WFAA.

The mother put her child in the bathtub and then walked into another room to tend to two other kids.

Hoskins said in a statement: “The mother put her child in the bathtub and then walked into another room to tend to two other kids.

“She came back and found the child face-down in the bathtub.”

No charges are being filed against the parents as authorities have determined the incident was a “tragic accident.”

A GoFundMe page was created to raise money for a memorial service.

The page reads: “Eve has such a big personality and heart, and in need of all your prayers.

“Any donations will much appreciated, and will go to help her and her family overcome this tragedy.”
