Law student kicked out of gym because ‘revealing’ top was distracting men

A woman claims she was asked to leave her gym because the workout top she was wearing was ‘too revealing’ and distracting men.

Law student Marny, 22, tweeted a photo of herself in her new crop top to show she was not wearing a sports bra, as staff at the gym had claimed.

She was at the gym in Constance, south Germany, with her boyfriend when a female trainer approached and said ‘she couldn’t train like this’.

In another tweet she said she was accused of ‘confusing’ the male members with the top.

She said: ‘Just got kicked out of my gym, because my clothes were too “revealing”… and were confusing the men in the gym. What century are we in again? So sad.’

Marny said she did not want to name and shame the gym since it was only a small business and she had gone there for the last two years. She said she just wanted to show that such attitudes still existed.

She was told that sports bras were not even allowed in the first place – even if she was not wearing one herself.

She added: ‘Many people were confused as to what their reasoning was, as you really can’t see anything (of me), and they said the reason was that I was wearing a sports bra and it wasn’t acceptable. (it isn’t a sports bra and I don’t get why sports bras aren’t acceptable but anyway).

‘I wanted to clarify that they told me that guys were not allowed to wear tank tops either, but every time I ever went there, there were guys in tank tops who weren’t ever asked to leave.
