Kevin the Carrot fans get a second chance to own one of Aldi’s sell out toys

Diehard fans of Kevin the Carrot have been given a second chance at getting their hands on the cuddly toys, this time to raise money for charity.

The beloved character has become a feature of Aldi’s Christmas advert and each year he is released as a plush toy across the UK and Ireland.

His popularity has led Aldi to describe him as “just a humble carrot who stole the nation’s heart”.

The toys, which include other characters such as Kevin’s wife Katie, their three children Chantenay, Baby Carrot, and Jasper, as well as the family’s nemesis Pascal the Parsnip, were a sell out last month.

Fans were reportedly “scrapping” to get their hands on the toys.

Now Aldi is auctioning 10 limited-edition Kevin and Katie plush toys in a bid to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The new release will be donning festive outfits and be auctioned through an official eBay partnership from 5pm on Thursday, December 6.

Fans will have 10 days to bid on the toys.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK said the auction will help the company reach their £5 million fundraising target for the charity.

“Kevin and his family have built up a pretty big fan base and demand for the toys has grown as a result each year.,” she said.

“We are thrilled to partner with eBay on this initiative and are rooting for Kevin fans across the nation to help us raise money for this fantastic cause.”
