A pedestrian has died after a collision with a marked police car in south London, Scotland Yard said.
The man, believed to be in his 60s, was struck as officers responded to an emergency call in Mitcham at about 11.30am on Wednesday.
He was treated by ambulance crews but died at the scene.
The victim’s next of kin are “in the process of being informed”, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
Officers from the force’s serious collision investigation unit are dealing with the incident.
The Met’s directorate of professional standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct have also been notified.
A number of road closures are in place.
