A leg bone has been found in the desperate search for a miniature Chihuahua that was snatched by a seagull.
Becca Hill’s partner saw the bird swoop down suddenly and fly off with little Gizmo, 4, in its beak.
She was hoping to find her dog alive but a week has passed and a gruesome discovery has been made.
Natalie Williams, 29, found the leg on a roof popular with seagulls in Totnes, Devon.
It’s feared the fur on bone will be a match for missing Gizmo and Becca is now anxiously waiting for test results to confirm his tragic demise.
Natalie told The Sun on Sunday: ‘We had to get someone out to remove a chicken’s head not long ago, as well as the body of a gull that had been cannibalised.
‘On Friday, I found what can only be described as a mammal’s leg on a fire escape at the back. I straight away thought of Gizmo as it looks like it belongs to a dog.’
Gizmo was taken six miles away at Becca’s home in Paignton. She previously said: ‘My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down.
‘It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn’t see him anymore. I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now.’
She also posted about Gizmo on Facebook. ‘Please, please, please, anyone finds a chihuahua he’s mine, a seagull took him from my garden,’ she wrote.
Ms Hill said her six-year-old daughter is ‘really upset’ and ‘missing her dog’.
Fortunately, the child did not witness Gizmo being taken away.
