Holly Willoughby ‘suspected’ Meghan Markle was pregnant and reveals clue that gave it away

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofieldshared their joy after hearing about the latest royal baby on Monday morning.

This Morning started soon after it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were expecting their first child together.

Mother-of-three Holly admitted she – like many others – suspected the Duchess Of Sussex was pregnant when she saw the royal at Princess Eugenie ‘s wedding on Friday.

Meghan covered her figure in a large navy coat with just two top buttons done up as she made a speedy arrival at St George’s Chapel.

Holly said: “I saw the two buttons down up and the rest open and I thought hang on.”

It’s now been confirmed the newlywed and her husband, the Duke of Sussex, are expecting a baby in the spring.

The news was announced after the couple touched down in Australia for their royal tour of the region.

On Monday’s show, Holly and Phillip chatted to Australian news reporter Samantha Brett and This Morning’s royal correspondent Camilla Tominey about the forthcoming addition to the royals.

Phillip said: “It’s very exciting news. It was obviously made today so it didn’t overshadow Friday.”

Camilla revealed Harry and Meghan told members of the family at Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding reception, but “left quite early”.

She said: “They were due to go to evening do on Friday night, but they pulled out.”

Having experienced three pregnancies herself, Holly could sympathise: “The first 12 weeks is the most exhausting bit.”

After Camilla described how broody Harry had been for years, especially after watching his brother Prince William have three kids, Holly gushed: “Now it’s his turn, it’s so lovely.”

Holly and Phil then discussed Meghan’s birth plan, speculating if she would deliver at the Lindo wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, just like the Duchess of Cambridge .

Camilla said: ” Possibly… she’s American and they do things different. She’s quite a holistic person. Will she want a natural birth?”

Holly suggested Meghan may want a home birth when she gives delivers in the spring.

Phillip added: “Everybody loves a bit of good news on a wet Monday.”
