A LIVERPOOL fan had talkSPORT’S Andy Goldstein in stitches as he declared the Reds should be awarded a trophy if they finish SECOND.
Jurgen Klopp’s chance of landing the Prem title took a huge hit as Manchester City edged past Leicester to go into the final day top of the table.
And a man going by the name Cameron rang up the radio station to air his frustrations.
He said: “It’s been such a gripping title race. I thought we should get a trophy if we finish second.
“If we get 97 points, it’s astronomical, Alex Ferguson never got that many.
“Comer up against this City team, they’ve spent all that money.
“We’ve got Champions League semi-final coming up, what have they got?
“We’ve won the Champions League five times, what’s anybody else done?”
In between fits of laughter, Goldstein asked: “Are you winding me, up are you an Evertonian?”
But the caller insisted he was genuine, although a wind-up seems the most likely explanation.
One reply stated: “Even as a Liverpool fan this is just stupid! If we finish 2nd then we just have to say fair play and we have been beaten by the better team!”
While another quipped: “Oh my god, it’s been that long since they won the league he’s forgotten how it works.”
And and Arsenal fan added: “Talksport is just comedy gold nowadays”.
