Call the Midwife star announces fantastic news

Ex Call the Midwife star Jessica Raine has revealed she is expecting her first child.

Congratulations to Jessica Raine who has announced she is pregnant with her first baby.

Jesica, 36, previously played a heroic midwife in BBC drama Call the Midwife.

She confirmed the exciting baby news during a Q+A session for a new BBC drama, Baptiste.

Jessica arrived for the new show’s media screening sporting a huge bump and discussed performing stunts while pregnant.

Speaking to the Mirror, Jessica explained that she “was a bit tired but the worrying thing for production was there was a car race and stunt and I neglected to tell them I was pregnant when I took the job.

“We had to work out how to do a car chase without me being in any danger” she added.

Jessica started her career on the stage but shot to fame in the hit BBC drama Call the Midwife. She played Jenny Lee for three series.

Tom is a fellow actor and in 2015 starred in Channel 4’s Humans, a sci-fi drama series about the rise of robots.

Tom has two children from his previous marriage.

Working on a set surrounding by babies, Jessica said she felt broody ‘on and off’ but was too busy to try for a child.

In 2012, Jessica also said she felt guilty about how some of the babies were treated on the BBC drama’s set.

Jessica discussed feeling ‘evil’ after being forced to keep babies awake during birth scenes by ‘blowing on their face’.

Jessica is thought to be heavily pregnant and due to give birth in the coming months.
